Lightning payouts and automation
We become the first pool ever to pay miners over the Lightning Network, pass 1.3 million bitcoin mined, and roll out automated, price-aware machine curtailment.

Hardware division begins
Slush Pool is rebranded to Braiins Pool, and Braiins starts building its own mining hardware in-house, as a dedicated hardware division.

Stratum V2
Slush Pool is fully brought in-house, and Stratum V2 pushes mining toward greater decentralization.
- 2018
Braiins OS levels the field
We expose AsicBoost, a roughly 13% efficiency edge that Bitmain quietly reserved for its own farms, and release Braiins OS to unlock it free for every miner. It breaks the monopoly and today secures over 2 GW of hashrate.

The pool mines its one millionth bitcoin.
