Hello from the new Braiins Store

Welcome. If you have ordered from us before, you may notice that the shop looks a little different. We have moved Braiins Store off the hosted Shopify storefront we used for the last few years and onto a storefront we build, run, and host ourselves. This post is the short tour: what is new, what is the same, and what you should know if you are coming back to place another order.

Why we moved

The old shop did its job. It also boxed us into a stack we could not fully see, could not modify when we needed to, and could not extend in the directions the rest of Braiins is heading. Bitcoin miners get opinionated about owning their stack for the same reasons that we got opinionated about owning the storefront: when something matters to your customers, you do not want a third party to be the single point of failure between you and them.

Concretely, the new storefront is built on MedusaJS for the commerce backend and SvelteKit for the storefront, and we host both ourselves. The code is small enough that the same engineers who build mining infrastructure can read and change it without ceremony. That is the long-term reason. The short-term reason is that several things on the old shop, multi-currency, real EU VAT handling, custom shipping flows for mining hardware, were getting expensive to bolt on, and we would rather spend that energy on the products.

What is the same

  • The product line you came here for. Femto, BMM, Deck, and Hashnode are all here. So is the merch range.
  • The team behind the shop. Same people on customer support, same warehouses, same logistics partners.
  • Payment options that matter to mining customers, including card and bank transfer payments through ThePay in the EU.

What is new

One storefront, three currencies. EUR, USD, and CZK are all first-class. EUR prices include VAT. USD prices are quoted final, so what you see is what you pay; if you are in a US tax jurisdiction that applies sales tax, it is calculated and shown at checkout. CZK is the local display option for our home market.

Two fulfillment regions. We ship out of the EU and the US. The EU warehouse handles the European Union, the United Kingdom (where import handling allows it), and most of the rest of Europe. The US warehouse handles North America. Region is detected from your address at checkout, and the shop will only offer products that the chosen region can actually ship.

A real account. You can save shipping addresses, look up past orders, and reorder accessories without rebuilding your cart from scratch. If you had an account on the old shop, your past orders are not automatically present here yet; we are working on the migration script.

Honest stock numbers. When something says "in stock," the number behind that label is the actual count in the warehouse, not a guess. When something is on a lead time, the lead time on the product page is what we are quoting our warehouse team, not a generic placeholder.

What we still owe you

A few things we want to be straight about, because the new shop is new:

  • The blog you are reading is brand new. Expect light traffic and short posts for the first month while we find our voice.
  • Subscription emails (order confirmation, shipping notifications) are routed through a new provider. If anything from us lands in spam, let us know so we can fix the deliverability rule rather than ignore it.
  • Some long-tail accessories from the old shop are not yet listed here. If you were looking for something specific and cannot find it, write to support and we will tell you whether it is coming back or has been retired.

How to reach us

Support email and the contact form are both linked in the footer. If your question is about an existing order, please include the order number; if it is about a product you are considering, the more detail you give us about your power, network, and noise constraints, the faster we can give you a useful answer.

Thanks for being here. Stick around: the next post is a short field guide to the four Braiins teams whose work converges in this shop, because we get asked at least once a week which "we" is talking when something says "we".

This is a draft. Confirm the migration story for past orders and the final list of returning long-tail accessories before publishing.
